#Hasbro Game Of Life Zapped Edition A #Review (Even Brooke Burke Wants To Play)

When I was growing up I didn’t have a cell phone, an iPod, an iPad or even a tv remote! Heck, I was the remote! We had to actually get up to change the channel.

What I did have though was board games. Classics like The Game of Life.

With all the technology out there now, it’s hard to get older children to want to play board games. Until now! The Game of Life Zapped Edition has arrived!

It’s an interactive game that uses your iPad and a free downloadable app. The game is compatible with both the iPad 1 and 2.

The iPad acts as your spinner and you get to create you own little peg person. It’s quite a simple set up and the iPad directs you through the game so it’s not complicated at all. Before setting up the game, I opened the app to get a feel for how it worked. There’s a game guide and a FAQ’s section for help built in to the app. That’s my little peg person on the right!

Although the game remains the same with the board and cars you move around, there are some really cute upgrades from a regular board game like landing on an “America’s Funniest Videos” square. You can also see your virtual characters on the screen and where they are in “The Game of Life”.

The game plays like the orginal for the most part although it allows for the world we live in today. It still has the same basic teaching skills of what life is all about. I did like that it had more choices available such as same-sex marriage. This, however, may not appeal to everyone.

I think the visual aspect of this new game is much more appealing and fun. Looks like Brooke Burke-Charvet, co-host of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” does too. She was recently spotted purchasing The Game of Life Zapped.

The only drawback I see to this game is it doesn’t allow for mistakes. If you press a wrong button you can’t go back and redo it. At least I haven’t figured how to do that yet if it is available.

The game is for 8+ and 2 to 4 players. I’d definitely recommend this game as both fun and eductional.

Disclosure: I was provided The Game of Life Zapped in order to be able to review. No other compensation was received and all views are my own.
