My husband and I travel a fair amount. Sometimes I wonder about the safety of the hotel rooms. For the most part, I feel secure but wouldn’t mind that extra touch.
I was recently sent some products from Addalock one of which was for the original Addalock. Quick, informative video here.
It looks like and is a very simple device. Easy to use but very effective. The chrome piece is inserted into the latch of the door and the red piece locks it into place. This lock works on most inswinging doors. This comes in a little pouch that makes it great for travel. I was surprised at how sturdy and convenient this was. No complications, no tools, no confusing instructions just added security.
The second item I was sent was the Burglabar! Another truly awesome item which has won the PTPA Award. You can use it on sash windows, patio doors or really any sliding door. Before putting this onto your door or window, you simply have to test to see if it will fit and that is simple. Hold it against the door or window and see if the door or window that slides in front can go over it.
When the bar lays flat, windows and doors can be opened. When the one half is up doors and windows are locked in place. I believe this is really good for patio doors. They make great child proof locks as well. Put them up high on a sliding closet door and your child cannot get inside!

The final item I received was the Double-Locking Suction Hook. Another simple but effective and useful item. To lock in place, merely pull the hook down until it locks. Double lock it by pushing the small tab upwards. It’s secure and steady. Unlike regular suction cups that can fall off easily (and scare the crap out of you in the middle of the night) this one hangs tight! Place it where you need it. No screws and no holes! Simple!
