Minimize Monday – Why Am I Keeping This? July 16, 2012

My minimize Monday this week had me shaking my head in disbelief.

Another suitcase? Really!? Yes, I’m not kidding you. I’m pretty sure we must of come close to being suitcase hoarders or something. Anyway, this baby had 2 broken zippers, one on the front pouch and the one to close your suitcase. As well, the frame was twisted and bent out of shape. It’s hard to see in the picture but where the handle is the bar is bent and pushing up against the cloth.

I actually remember when this suitcase broke. It’s funny now but at the time, so embarassing. We were returning from a trip when the luggage return began moving. After a minute or so we started seeing pieces of clothing and undergarments spinning by. Then I recognized something. OMG! My stuff!! The luggage materialized with duct tape wrapped around it to apparently keep it closed. I was humiliated.

I was not happy to see this stored downstairs as a horrid reminder. It’s gone now. For good.

  1. Oh no! I can imagine that was mortifying. And think now – whatever possessed you to keep that suitcase, hey? Denial :)

I think it might of been a subconscious decision to remind myself to double check zippers for any signs of weakness lol..Funny now, not then lol

ACK! now that is one thing I am always afraid of. That suitcase was taking up more than space in your home – it had space in your head, too. Too much real estate for a bad memory item.
