Most of you know that my daughter recently got married. Everything is just so expensive to buy especially when you are only going to use it once. It seems crazy to spend huge amounts for a single special occasion. That’s when I began thinking about purchasing vs rentals.
Everyone knows you can rent a tuxedo or a car and even some furniture. When I began looking around, I found that there wasn’t that much that you couldn’t rent. You can get everything from a cottage to jewllery or equipment for an office meeting.
It’s actually quite amazing really. I could put together one heck of a party and not buy a thing. Even your watch could be a rental. How cool is that?
Is it possible, however, to get everything you want from one place. Seems improbable. Dresses and spotlights? Cottages and a band? Apparently, yes you can. The hire and rental industry is much broader than I ever gave it credit for. Online shopping has taken it way beyond your local shop.
Prices obviously vary from site to site but in general are quite reasonable especially when compared to having to purchase these items. Some sites offer both worldwide rentals on items such as vehicles as well as local rentals for such things as cutlery and tables for your party.
There are two bonuses to this as far as I’m concerned. The first being that my expenses can be drastically cut if I don’t have to buy the items. The second is my all-time favorite, shopping online. It’s convenient! I am busy as I imagine you are. Weddings, parties and special events can be exhausting. If you can sit down at your leisure and browse online to find what you need, that works for me. No running between stores or trying to find the time on your lunch when places are open.
I definitely think that for certian occasions, renting wins out!
