For the past seven months my minimize Monday posts have concentrated mainly on the clean up of my basement. My goal was to reorganize, repack and remove unnecessary items. Some of those items were trash, some were recyclable and some I gave away.
It’s been very exciting for me to see the progress I was making. Just by taking away a single item or two every week has opened up my basement tremendously. Once I had two boxes ready to combine, I repacked one box and then stored it under the basement stairs. The second box was recycled. Naturally, I had to reorganize underneath my stairs before I placed anything new there. It was jammed too! Above, you see the “before” pictures I took of my basement. Much too much clutter for my taste.

So? What do you think? Was it worth the wait? I think so. I’m very, very proud of what I have accomplished. To think it wasn’t even that painful. It doesn’t have to be when you work on it a little bit at a time.
Both sets of pictures were taken from the same spot in the basement. They were taken on one side of the furnace. The other side being the bedroom portion of the basement.
Next week, I will start a new project. I haven’t quite decided what it will be yet but I have a few ideas! Remember, all previous posts can be found by simply putting “minimize monday” in the search box on my blog.

Doesn’t it feel awesome to tackle something like that? I have pretty close to the same before pictures of my basement but haven’t yet made it across the finish line to the after pictures. I should just do it and get it over with…*sigh*
AWESOME!!!

AWESOME!!! Yes, definitely worth the wait – I’m so impressed in how much clutter you moved out of there – and just a little each week sure made it easy, didn’t it? Can’t wait to see what you start on next week

Awesome!! Even your before pictures look better than my basement! lol. I think you gave me the motivation I need to get started on it.
Having a cleaned-out basement is the best; we did the same thing recently and my boys use it as a playroom. I love it!

Great job! Ahh how nice to have a clean de cluttered basement! Wanna do mine??
It is my dream basement! You are doing great! It is difficult for me to recycle and clean at the same time, I just put together everything and then ask my self why I did that.
