It’s that time of year again. You know what I mean. No, it’s not time for your annual vacation or a fun shopping spree for yourself, it’s school time and that means shopping of a different nature. An expensive shopping trip! Did you know that the average Canadian will spend $677 on school supplies this year? Wow! It never goes down does it? Visa did a survey that found out a lot of interesting facts.

One of the most interesting facts to me was they found that as Canadians get older, we tend to spend more money in Canada than in the US. Not surprisingly, online shopping appears to becoming more and more popular for back to school. Most people say it’s due to crowds and the stress of lineups at shopping centers.
When Visa asked me to visit Visaperks and build a back to school basket, I was thrilled. Visaperks has a lot of great coupons and discounts. My thought was to show you how they can help from Pre-Kindergarten right through University. It’s not only the little ones that go back to school and there are discounts available for everyone.
The first thing I thought of is school supplies. My granddaughter needs basics as she’s just starting out. So I headed online to Grand and Toy. Wow! Great Coupon. Regular prices are fantastic and shipping over $100 is only $.01. Yup, a penny.
Next, still on visaperks, I headed over to Bentely. They were offering a savings of 15% on any purchase (regular or sale items) over $50 not including shipping and handling. I found this awesome spinner bag on sale from 89.99 to 69.99. Most students, like my oldest in her last year of University would just grab a backpack and haul around their books and laptops. Given the expenses they already have, a rolling case is a little much unless you can scoop up a great deal like this.
