Salmon Balls – An Appetizer Or Healthy Snack – Recipe

Last week I showed you a wonderful clam chowder recipe topped with Salmon. It’s healthy and full of omega vitamins. Here’s a recipe I came across for an appetizer that uses canned salmon.

Salmon Balls – An Appetizer Or Healthy Snack – Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 15½ oz can of salmon
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs
  • ⅓ cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • pinch of pepper
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 table spoons minced parsley

Instructions
  1. Drain salmon keeping the liquid and then flake
  2. combine first seven ingredients including salmon juice and roll into 1 inch balls
  3. chill at least 30 min
  4. Melt butter and add salmon balls browning on all sides then transfer to a serving dish
  5. add lemon juice and parsley to fry pan
  6. stir and simmer a minute
  7. pour over salmon and serve warm

Notes
Makes 36 salmon balls You can make balls up the night before to save prep time. Also, I used the juice of one lemon
