Have you ever met anyone at the top of a hill when you are scared silly and about to do something you’ve never done before?
I did just that during my phenomenal day with @FordCanada.
I’ve never ziplined before and was extremely nervous staring down what seemed like the biggest hill I’d ever seen. On the spur of the moment I said “OK, I’m going” and a voice behind me said she’d come too. That’s how I met Sam or @MixstressSamiJoe who writes peekthruourwindow.
We both sat chatting nervously as we were hooked up to the line. I’ll admit that I was looking anywhere and everywhere except for “down”. The wonderful people that were taking all the pics for Ford were chatting with me as well and trying to distract me.
Sam said “You ready, Katrina”
My answer? “As ready as I’ll ever be”
With that we were off.
It was thrilling, spectacular, gorgeous and any other word you can think of that means wonderous. The view was breathtaking and I suddenly felt ridiculous for being such a nervous nelly. In fact, when we hit the second line to go down, I was a tiny bit disappointed that it was only about half of the first one. A much quicker ride.
Thanks so much to Ford and the staff at COP who gave me this exciting and new experience.
