Recently, I was asked to find out how easy it would be to redeem Sears club points. Like other point systems, when you shop with your Sears card you collect points. When you are ready to redeem, you get a Sears Club Gift Card with the value of your points on it.
I was sent one of the gift cards and decided to make two trips into Sears this past weekend.
My first trip was on my own and I was thrilled to be going shopping. One thing I adore is shopping but FREE shopping such as using points, even better. So, just how easy it is to shop with this club card? I was about to find out. I don’t have a Sears Credit Card, so I was a little nervous. Do you have to show a credit card when you use your points?
The choices offered by Sears made it hard to decide where to shop first…..I found myself in ladies wear. Okay, I made my way to ladies wear where I found a beaufiful short sleeved sweater. Nervously, I headed to customer service to pay. I told the woman I’d like to pay with my points card. No problem! Swipe the card and you’re done. The remaining amount of money shows on the bottom of your receipt. That was easy and fast. Sweet!
Next stop, shoes! Come on, you didn’t think I’d pass up a good shoe sale did you? I needed something new for the conference I’m soon heading too. After shoes, it was childrens wear and mens wear. All with the same result. A pleasant smile, swipe the card and you’re on your way.
Ok, that finished day one. The next day I headed back with my husband to get him some desperately needed new runners. Would todays staff be just the same? Well, yes and no.
This card must be a newer version. The customer service rep asked me where I got the card from because she had never seen it before. I told her it had been mailed to me. She seemed a little confused until another service rep told her it was the new cards and to go ahead and swipe it. Not such a big deal since this card is NEW. A small delay but then an apology and I was on my way. We all have to learn right?
I made one more stop for two Christmas presents. I can’t say what department because that would give it away to my kids but none the less it was easy. Swipe and go. Like any gift card. Use it on sale items or regular priced items. As long as you have the money on the card then taxes are also included.
My trip was very successful and informative. I’d have no problem using this card again in the future.
Disclosure – I am participating in the Sears Club Points program by Mom Central Canada. I received compensation for my participation in this campaign. The opinions on this blog are my own.

I signed up to have my points automatically converted to gift cards and sent to me. It works out well and my points never expire.
Looks like you got some nice purchases. Like the black booties/shoes!
Cheers.
It sure sounds like they make it easy to use the Sears points! NICE!
