Saturday Special! Get To Know A Canadian Blogger – Featured This Week: SoberJulie

I thought it was high time that I featured some of the fabulous Canadian bloggers I’ve come to know. They are interesting, clever and they work really hard. A little recognition is overdue. Please leave comments and show them some love. I know most of you already read their blogs or enter their giveaways, so here’s your chance to give back :)

Please enjoy! – Tina

1. Tell me a little about yourself – who is Julie?
I’m a woman who is fast approaching 40 living a life I’d never thought I would. I’d always pictured myself as a successful executive at this age, happily married with children. I’ve got the last two pegged but God had other plans for my life. After a car accident some years ago, I’m left with a cognitive disabilities and physical limitations which had robbed me of my old identity. Now I’m a woman whose faith guides her, strong in my foundation I face everything one day at a time, determined to grab life by the throat and shake the joy out of it.
2. How long have you been blogging and why did you start
I began blogging publically in November 2010 when I realized I couldn’t remember any of the memories in my photos. I began it as a journal to substitute my memory and  it’s morphed on its own into something inspiring to me.
3. Your favourite thing about Canada
Diversity – whether it’s the terrain, the weather or the people Canada is a fantastic example of diversity in harmony.
4. Top 3 food choices
Cheese
Meat
Mocktails – ok it’s not a food but still they’re delicious!
5. If you could meet anyone, who would it be and why
Anthony Hopkins….he’s sticking in my head lately because I only recently realized he is sober. Funny thing is that we got sober at the same age and have the same sobriety date…or wait, Pink….cuz she’s wicked cool.
6. Share something you like to do in your spare time “non blogging related”
I’m actually quite sappy, I love cuddling with my husband and our girls. It often morphs from a warm family cuddle into a WWE style wrestling match between the three of them and they’re my true joy. I also reach out to help others, I speak at youth rehabs, schools and anywhere people will listen.
7. Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Simply that I encourage your readers to live life NOW, the past is gone and tomorrow hasn’t happened….dive into today!
