I admit it. I’m not much of an exercise gal. I know it’s important and that’s why I decided I had to figure out what was right for me.
First of all I needed something I wouldn’t give up on. Realistically, I knew an exercise regiment of push ups and sit ups was instant failure for me.
Second of all I needed something I could do at my own pace, in my house, that wasn’t going to cost me money.
A few years ago, my cardiologist mentioned that walking was a good way to help lower blood pressure. So I decided to see what other benefits there were to walking.
It turns out that walking is a very underrated exercise.
Walking can:
1. Help reduce your waistline
2. Help lower blood pressure
3. Lower bad cholesterol
4. Raise good choleserol
5. Reduce the risk of heart attack
6. Improve mood
Walking is safer than high aerobic exercise because it is something that is automatic to us and we do not have to learn the proper way of doing it. So there is less chance of injuries. That’s not to say that aerobic exercise is not another way of benefiting. However, walking is a great way to introduce your body to a healthier lifestyle.
It’s easy to add to your daily routine.
I have found it a great way to relax and slow down the pace of the day.

Walking is my favourite form of exercise! Keep it up girl!
I like walking – you can do it anywhere and other than a good pair of shoes, you’re pretty much able to use what you have for gear. Good for you – keep up the good work!
