After a long week, we decided to treat ourselves to a lunch at Denny’s Canada. Since breakfast is all day, everyone can get what they fancy. Mix it up a little bit.
I haven’t been there since they started their new menu but Denny’s asked me to check it out. No hardship there that’s for sure! We’ve visited Denny’s Canada many times and I was looking forward to see what the buzz is about.
We headed to the McLeod Tr location in my wonderful hometown of Calgary. The wait was reasonable for 1pm at ten minutes. The first thing I noticed was the free Wifi signs. A necessity in this day and age. Everyone wants to keep in touch. You just need to ask your server and they will help you with that.
So we’re off to a good start!
Opening the menu, I noticed quite a number of different menu items. The pictures were sharp and inviting. Doesn’t the Cobb Salad above looking yummy!
They also have “healthier choices” listed throughout the menu. Admittedly, I only glanced at them. I know, I know, I probably should of looked closer but they had so many other mouth watering options!! Not a great picture but I was in a hurry to see what was being offered.
I came across a prime rib, eggs benny. Oh yeah! I needed to look no further. Plus, they had a half portion option available for $8.49. Wow, generously sized for that price!
This was a Sunday treat, so naturally I decided to have dessert. What!? I said you could mix it up a little. Besides, this banana split was too tempting. They didn’t have the regular nuts available and offered me pralines instead. Gorgeous bowl! Our server made it and it was exquisate. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish it all but I did give it a darn good try!
Here, I really must mention our server. She was friendly, fast and on top of her tables. We adored her.
Then came the bill. Ok ladies and gents, this is where it gets awesome! Here’s the breakdown
2 cups of coffee, 1 – 1/2 sized prime rib eggs benny, 1 denny’s breakfast with cinnamon pancakes, a side order of toast, a hot fudge sundae and a banana split all for the low price of $39.20. It was a lot of food let me tell you.
It’s time to go back and check out your local Denny’s Canada again. I absolutely will. You should of seen some of the burgers that went by me.
If you’ve been lately or head on over there, let me know how you found the new menu! Oh, and check out all the pics I’ve posted below.
