Delivery Service That Will Open Your Kitchen To More @SkipTheDishes #Review #Giveaway

Last week, I was approached by SkipTheDishes to try out their delivery service. Now, I’d already heard about them, but never tried them. I figured, what’s the difference between them and the way I already order takeout? Well, it turns out, there’s quite a difference. In fact, SkipTheDishes opens the door to a much wider range of cuisine. I can order food from anybody on their list, from as far away from me, as I wish. Yes, I have to pay a delivery fee that represents the distance, but I have a choice.

What’s different in their delivery service, is the amount of restaurants I have to choose from. Truthfully, I never got through the whole list. You can search their site for American, BBQ, Donair, European, Family, Hot Dogs, Mexican and anything else you can think of. It will bring up a list of restaurants available to you for delivery.

Once you’ve made your choice, click on the restaurant and choose your meal. It will ask you if you need cutlery or not. Place your order and go to checkout. You’ll receive a confirmation with who’s looking after your order, and who’s delivering it. Once you click, I understand, you’ll have a screen where you can check the details of your order, track your order or follow along on a map. It’s kinda cool, actually.

Under tracking, I can see what my courier is doing. Is he on his way to pick up my order, or is he delivering another order? With the GPS mode, I can watch along with where my courier is, right down to the street he’s on. I can also see just how long before I can expect my order to arrive. This way, you know just when to round up the troops for dinner.

SkipTheDishes is definately a unique courier service. More food choices, the capability to track your food, no fees and the Food Courier receives 100% of the delivery charge and tip provided. My delivery cost was $5.99 which I thought was very reasonable. Plus, I didn’t have to go and get it.

However, what if you have a problem? I did! The restaurant missed an item in my order, did not provide cutlery, the food was cold and my sliders had no bbq sauce. What a mess! Remember, this was the restaurant. SkipTheDishes did their part, but what do you do? Contact SkipTheDishes. They will make it right by contacting the restaurant and you will receive,

1) A redelivery of any missing items or the entire meal if necessary, or
2) Compensation at the discretion of the restaurant

I tried the restaurant. Unfortunately, they were not helpful in the least. In fact, it was awful. I reached out through social media to management and got the owner. She assured me, that should not of happened and that they should of accepted responsibility. However, to avoid any stress on your part, let SkipTheDishes do what they are meant to do. Keep it easy for you. It will get corrected. To begin with, order from restaurants you know and trust. Branch out once you’ve had the real SkipTheDishes treatment.

Are you ready to give this a try? Great! I have a $50 GC to giveaway. If you are in Canada or the US, live in a city that has SkipTheDishes, then you can enter. Check out the list of cities HERE. I live in New Westminster, BC and have not heard of Skip the Dishes before but I love the idea! I saw several local restaurants on there that we like to order from but who don’t offer delivery – sometimes we skip ordering from them because we don’t want the hassle of going to pick up, so this service would be wonderful to let us eat the food we’re craving! 🙂 And it is great to support the smaller restaurants that just can’t offer delivery!

  98. I’m sorry but I honestly do feel like this is something that that skip the dishes would’ve hired you to do. they sound like a good company at first but the story behind them is not great. I have never ordered from skip , maybe thought I would at one point in time but am very convinced now that i never will as I have many friends that do use them as a business. They don’t appreciate the business with the restaurants using them (they take a 15-25% cut from each transaction) and they treat their drivers like shit. Usually it’s the drivers that have complaints all over the internet but I have heard much from the restaurant owners side. They take a cut from everything and when things go wrong they will always put the blame on the restaurant or their drivers. Usually they will call back the restaurant and even though they already took their percentage in the transaction will force the restaurant to take the hit and make a new dish (aka food was packaged properly at the time of pickup., soup was spilt and all over the bag upon arrival… usually maybe driver’s fault but who knows) They will never take responsibility for the business they are trying to create under their own name. Use them once for every business listed under them. If you like your food then order personally from the restaurant next time through picking up or or through their own delivery services. skip the dishes orders will always be last priority to their dine ins, pickup order and their own delivery services that they provide which will help the company grow LOCALLY rather than paying at most 25% to this company just for them to not deal with their bullshit because they put the blame on other people. You said that skip the dishes “APPROCHED” you. Clearly looking for good reviews. I hope them all the best in the future but I would probably never use them knowing all these facts.
