Summertime In The City – Keeping Your Kids Busy #FACEPAINT #RECIPE

Summertime is nearly upon us. A favourite of pretty much everyone. After all, there’s sunshine, longer days and sleeping in. The kids don’t have school and you don’t have to pack lunches. Personally, I can almost feel the sun and the breeze. Wait, what!? The kids aren’t in school? Don’t panic, I’ve created a list of one dozen things that will keep your children busy.

1. Start saving toilet paper rolls for crafts. Find tons of ideas online.

2. Buy them a magnifying glass and send them outside (think dollar store)

3. Get them a Library card

4. Turn on the water sprinklers

5. Take a picnic over to the park

6. Watch for free outdoor movies in the community

7. Pitch a tent in the backyard and let your child use their imagination. Give them pots and snacks, let them pretend to camp

8. Have your kids read to each other. See who can make the best voices for the characters

9. Get the kids to help you declutter. Have a garage sale. Plan a day to spend the money.

10. Bring out the hose and let them spray down the car, water the lawn, wash the siding, clean the driveway, etc

11. Face painting

12. Get them a journal and encourage them to write a story or keep a diary of their summer
