Ham And Black Bean Soup #recipe

One of the things I enjoy during the winter, is a hearty bowl of soup. Especially, a homemade one like my ham and black bean. There’s something very comforting about the smells and taste of a piping hot bowl. It’s also a great way to use up leftovers from a large family meal.

Simply remember to keep the ham bone, then toss it into your slow cooker the next day. This ham and black bean soup is super easy to make. You’ll never go back to bought soup again. Easy, quick, healthy, cost saving, soup.

Ham And Black Bean Soup
 
Ingredients
  • 1 ham bone
  • 1 large can black beans
  • 1 large can diced tomatoes no salt added
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 or 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 large diced potato
  • 1 tsp each of, garlic, basil, oregano and Italian seasoning
  • chopped ham from bone
Instructions
  1. Place ham bone in slow cooker.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and cook on high for six hours.
  3. Remove ham bone 1 hour before finished.
  4. Remove meat from the bone
  5. Chop and return to slow cooker
